Welding equipment selection principle

The selection of welding equipment is an important part of the development of welding process, there are many factors involved, but the following aspects should be paid attention to.
1. Technical requirements for welded structures
The technical requirements of the welded structure include the material characteristics, structural characteristics, size, precision requirements and the use conditions of the structure.
If the welding structure material is ordinary low carbon steel, choose arc welding transformer; If the welding structure requirements are high, and require low hydrogen electrode welding, you should choose DC arc welding machine.
If it is thick and large welding, you can use electroslag welding machine; If it is bar butt, you can choose cold press welding machine and resistance butt welding machine. For active metal or alloy, heat resistant alloy and corrosion resistant alloy, according to the specific situation, inert gas shielded welding machine, plasma arc welding machine, electron beam welding machine and so on can be selected.
For large-scale welding structures with fixed structural form and size, special welding machines can be selected.
2. Actual usage
Different welding equipment can weld the same welding part, which must be selected according to the actual use of the welding equipment.
If there is a lack of flood power and air source in field welding, arc welding generators such as wood (steam) oil DC arc welding generators can only be selected as welding equipment.
For precision welders that do not allow reprocessing or heat treatment after welding, electron beam welders with energy concentration, no need to add filler metal materials, less heat-affected zone and high precision should be selected.
3. Economic benefit
When welding, the energy consumption of welding equipment is considerable. When selecting welding equipment, it should be considered that under the premise of meeting the process requirements, the welding equipment with less power consumption and high power factor should be selected as far as possible.
